Throwback time: When Tabu said she has been surrounded by strong women, admitted that can be intimidating for men – Times of India

The powerhouse actor Tabu turns 52 today! Tabu, who is known for her stellar performances in films like Maachis, Astitva, Chandni Bar and Haider amongst others, has always broken the mould as an actor, not letting herself play second fiddle to anyone. In a career spanning almost three decades, Tabu has consciously chosen strong women characters and the reason behind that was the kind of household she grew up in.

In a throwback interview on The “Rendezvous with Simi Garewal” show, Tabu said that she has a mind of her own owing to the presence of extremely strong women in her family. Tabu said that because she has been brought up by such fierce women in the family, it has made her extremely independent.


Elaborating further, the “Andhadhun” actor mentioned that men on the other hand, might find such women intimidating because they (women) don’t need men to support them. Tabu, however was quick to clarify that exceptions are always there and some men too, are extremely evolved and supportive.

On the workfront, Tabu will soon be seen in the highly anticipated Drishyam 2 with close friend Ajay Devgn. Apart from the original cast reprising their roles, Akshaye Khanna too has come on board this cult thriller.
