‘Drishyam 2’ crosses Rs 150 crore mark at worldwide box-office – Times of India


The Ajay Devgn, Tabu and Akshaye Khanna-starrer ‘Drishyam 2’ has raked in over Rs 150 crore at the worldwide box-office.

The film that has been earning rave critic and audience reviews recorded a strong first week overseas and collected USD 3.5 million which is roughly estimated at Rs 28.50 crore, states a report on boxofficeindia.com.

The film added 50% of its collection over the course of the week, which is said to be higher than the average weekday collection for any other film.

Going by the current trend, the film is expected to do very well overseas and could potentially double its numbers and cross the $6 million mark. However, a lot is riding on the coming weekend.

With the Rs 103 crore collection from the Indian box office, the film’s worldwide total collections has gone past the Rs 150 crore mark.

According to the statement issued by the makers the film is ‘the second highest grosser and opener of the year’ and promises to grow further in its second week at the box office.

Drishyam 2, helmed by Abhishek Pathak, has shattered many records since its release. It is based on the 2021 Malayalam film of the same name, also serving as a sequel to the 2015 film Drishyam, which in turn was adapted from the eponymous 2013 Malayalam film.
