Recently, the maverick filmmaker graced the sets of a singing reality show and spilled some beans on his life. Talking about his dating days with wife Mukta Ghai, the 77-year-old revealed that whenever he used to go to her house, he used a secret code word to communicate with her.
Elaborating on the same, the “Pardes” director revealed that whenever he visited Mukta’s house, he used to meet all the members of her family. While leaving, while he would wave to all the other members, he would quietly say “ilu ilu” to Mukta, thus confessing his feelings in a code language.
The director later used this phrase as a song for his movie “Saudagar” in 1991, starring Manisha Koirala and Vivek Mushran as the main leads.
Subhash Ghai has been in the industry for more than three decades, giving blockbusters like Kalicharan, Karz, Hero, Ram Lakhan, Khal Nayak, Taal and more.
