Writer Manoj Muntashir opens up on Besharam Rang row, says it was a ‘mistake’ on the makers’ part – Times of India

Siddharth Anand’s magnum opus Pathaan is all set to grace our silver screens next year. The spy, slick thriller, touted as one of the biggest projects of Shah Rukh Khan also stars Deepika Padukone and John Abraham in lead roles. The movie has been creating a lot of buzz ever since its teaser dropped on King Khan’s birthday early last month.

Besharam Rang is caught in the eye of controversy right now, with Deepika Padukone being massively trolled for wearing a saffron bikini in the song. Some religious groups took offence to the colour of the bikini and the actor is also being criticized for excessive skin show. Now, writer Manoj Muntashir has commented on the row, saying that it might have been on oversight on the part of the makers.

Speaking to Dainik Bhaskar, Manoj said that there is definitely some error on the part of the makers, and if people are so hurt, then they must have done something wrong. Elaborating further, the
Teri Mitti fame writer added that he is sure that had they recognised the mistake (regarding the colour of Deepika’s bikini), during the shoot, the cast and crew of the same would have rectified it then and there, without letting it snowball into such a big controversy.

Pathaan is all set to hit theatres on January 25 next year. Apart from
Pathaan, Shah Rukh also has
Jawan and
Dunki in his kitty. Deepika on the other hand will be seen in
Fighter next, with Hrithik Roshan and Anil Kapoor.
