Daniel Craig will once again play detective Benoit Blanc in third sequel of Knives Out says writer-director Rian Johnson – Times of India


Everyone’s favourite James Bond, Daniel Craig, now has another recognisable role to play – that of detective Benoit Blanc in the Knives Out mystery series. A third Knives Out mystery with Daniel Craig is in the works. The third instalment was announced when Netflix bought the franchise films at a reported deal of $400 million in 2021.

Currently, both franchise films, Knives Out and Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery figure in the top 10 list of Netflix. Glass Onion tops the list having clocked an amazing 82.1 million hours of viewership in just its first weekend of streaming. The statistics show that 35 million households streamed the film in over 93 countries. This is after it grossed $13 million in a one-week limited run in theatres in the US last month.

Writer-director, Rian Johnson says that the movie franchise has endless possibilities. Here is what he told Variety magazine in October, before Glass Onion’s release in theatres: “If each one of these can really be what Agatha Christie did, if it can be not just in a totally new location and a new cast but also trying something exciting, I’ll keep doing it as long as Daniel and I are having a good time…I’ll keep making these as long as they let me.”

Well, the audience has loved Benoit Blanc, so one can only say, ‘Keep them coming’.
