‘Cirkus’ box office collection day 8: Ranveer Singh starrer crashes with Rs 1 crore nett – Times of India


Ranveer Singh starrer ‘Cirkus’ has failed to live up to the hype, registering a poor first week at the box office. The film opened with just Rs 6.50 crore nett and continued with the downward trend on its second Friday too.

After an opening weekend score of Rs 29.25 crore nett, ‘Cirkus’ added Rs 1 crore nett to its total on day 8, reports boxofficeindia. The film has made total business of Rs 30.25 crore nett till now. ‘Cirkus’ has a chance of crossing Rs 40 crore nett, but only if it does humongous business on Saturday and Sunday, which looks uncertain for now. Directed by Rohit Shetty, ‘Cirkus’ features Ranveer Singh, Varun Sharma, Pooja Hegde and Jacqueline Fernandez in lead roles, with Johnny Lever, Sanjay Mishra, Siddharth Jadhav, Mukesh Tiwari, Vrajesh Hirjee, Ashwini Kalsekar, Murali Sharma, Tiku Talsania and Sulabha Arya essaying pivotal parts. Mounted on a grand budget, ‘Cirkus’ is expected to cover its revenue from satellite, digital and music sales, which will reportedly be around Rs 155-160 crore.

Interestingly, ‘Drishyam 2’ continued to fare well on its seventh Friday and stands at a total of Rs 224 crore nett currently. This Ajay Devgn starrer has been beating the record of ‘Cirkus’ at several big multiplexes across the country.
