‘The Kashmir Files’ director Vivek Agnihotri calls Prakash Raj ‘Andhkaar Raj’ after the actor called the film ‘nonsense’ – Times of India

Veteran actor Prakash Raj has slammed Vivek Agnihotri for making a film like ‘The Kashmir Files’ as he called the film “one of the nonsense films”. Prakash launched this vicious attack while speaking at the 2023 Mathrubhumi International Festival of Letters (MBIFL) in Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala.
The seasoned actor’s controversial comment came while Prakash extended his support for Shah Rukh Khan’s ‘Pathaan’. He heaped praise on the recently released action-entertainer for raking in more than Rs 700 crores at the box office.

Prakash also took a dig at the boycotters for their protest against the SRK film and called them “idiots”. He then heavily criticized Vivek Agnihotri for wanting an Oscar for ‘The Kashmir Files’. Prakash also claimed that international jury “spit” on ‘The Kashmir Files’ as he pointed out the controversy surrounding International Film Festival of India (IFFI) 2022 jury head, Israeli filmmaker Nadav Lapid’s comment. Lapid had called ‘The Kashmir Files’ a film with “propaganda” and “vulgar”.

Meanwhile, Vivek was quick to counter Prakash Raj’s criticism as shared the actor’s video on his official Twitter handle and wrote, “A small, people’s film The Kashmir Files has given sleepless nights to Urban Naxals so much that one of their Pidi is troubled even after one year, calling its viewer’s barking dogs. And Mr. Andhkaar Raj, how can I get Bhaskar, she/he is all yours. Forever.”

For the unversed, at the closing ceremony of the IFFI 2022 in Goa, Nadav Lapid had said that Vivek Agnihotri’s film is “propaganda” and “vulgar,” which led to a huge uproar. Later, Lapid had to apologise for his comment. But he later insisted that The Kashmir Files didn’t have “any inner contradictions or complexities, and is totally flat.”
