The wedding was a traditional South Indian style wedding with a special focus on Telugu culture. The wedding ceremony of Jr NTR, according to Hindu tradition, consists of several rituals and customs. This was followed by the engagement ceremony, which included exchanging of rings, garlands, and the tying of a sacred thread around the couple’s wrists. The next ritual was the Sangeet, which was a joyous celebration of the union of the couple. This was followed by the Mehendi ceremony, in which the bride’s hands and feet were decorated with henna. This was followed by the Ganapati Puja, which is a prayer to Lord Ganesha, the God of beginnings. The bride and groom then exchanged garlands, and the groom tied the mangalsutra (sacred thread) around the bride’s neck. The ceremony then continues with the pheras (seven circles) around the sacred fire, and the Saptapadi, or seven steps taken together by the couple.
