Ankita expressed, “When the announcement of ‘Veer Savarkar’ happened, it was quite sudden for everyone and people were quite surprised actually! I’m playing a very different character that I’ve ever played before. The journey of Yamuna bai is different, they’ve shown me from the age of 16 to 60 years in the film. So, people will get to see that whole transformation.”
Ask her if she’s finished shooting for her part and Ankita reveals, “I’ve almost finished most of my part but I think Randeep has broken his leg so I think I will resume shooting for the little remaining bit, once he recovers.”The actress recently is seen in a short film called ‘The Last Coffee’ on OTT. It released on February 13. Ankita feels that her character in this film is the closest to how she is in real life. She added, “People have told me they’ve loved this film and seeing me in this avatar. They can see me in this character. Somewhere I can relate to her very well. People are coming to me and telling me, ‘this is you and this is how we have been waiting to see you’. It’s a beautiful love story.”
Meanwhile, ‘Swavantra Veer Savarkar’ is touted to release on May 16, 2023.
