At a recent chat show, Manoj shared that since he is from theatre, there used to be a prerequisite that an artist should know how to sing. He revealed that he was really fond of dancing. The actor thought about exhibiting his skills as a dancer on the screen until he saw Bollywood actor Hrithik Roshan’s dance. After watching Hrithik, he told himself he cannot learn this now.
The National Award-winning actor recently celebrated seven glorious years of Hansal Mehta’s ‘Aligarh’. Talking about the film, he told Etimes, “I believe Aligarh has improved me as an actor and a person. I approached the role in a way other actors wouldn’t have. I saw my character as a literate Lata Mangeshkar fan rather than just a gay man. My whole focus was on his insistence on his privacy and his passion for whiskey and Lataji’s voice. It was a blissful spiritual journey.”
Manoj is currently promoting his upcoming web series, ‘Gulmohar’. The series also stars Sharmila Tagore and Suraj Sharma in key roles. It will stream on an OTT platform from March 3.
Apart from this, he will also be seen in the third season of his popular web series ‘The Family Man’.
