Kapil Sharma and Nandita Das launched the trailer of ‘Zwigito’ yesterday at at event in Mumbai. The film revolves around the life of a food delivery agent and the struggles that he faces everyday. Shahana Goswami plays Kapil’s wife in the film.
At the trailer launch event, Kapil revealed why Nandita cast him for the film. The comedian-turned-actor shared, “I asked her, ‘Why me?’ I didn’t know whether to take her answer as a compliment or an insult. She replied, ‘Even if global star Shah Rukh Khan would have agreed to do the film, I’d have not taken him, but chosen you because you have such a common face, it can fit anywhere in a crowd.'”

Kapil breaks away from his comedian image for this one. He shared at the trailer launch event that he could relate to his character. “I used to work at Coca-Cola. We all do small jobs here and there when we first come to Mumbai. The product was transported in trucks. There were no apps back then. But, when Nandita ma’am came to me and told me what all difficulties delivery guys face, I could relate to that story a lot,” he expressed.
The film also stars Sayani Gupta and Gul Panag. The film had its world premiere at Toronto International Film Festival. It is set to release on March 17.
