In an interview with indianexpress.com, the 39-year-old said, “Just being in the industry is a very tough job especially an actor, because you are constantly looking for validation. First from the makers, audience, box office, critics, and now OTT.” The actor also added that everyone everywhere, will have their 2 cents to give you and at one point, self-doubt will creep inside you. He added, “Each one has their own journey. I have tried to follow certain advice and it is not presented as an ‘advice’ but as, ‘Maybe you should do this, do that, hire a PR.’ I have been here long enough to realise that actually none of this really works.”
The actor, who is now making his mark with comedies like Lootcase and the current Kanjoos Makhichoos also said that since he started his career with hard hitting roles in Kalyug and Traffic Signal, he was quickly typecast as a serious actor and it took a lot of time for him to find good roles in comedy.
On the personal front, Kunal has been married to actor Soha Ali Khan since 2015 and shares a daughter, Inaaya Naumi with her.
