‘Bholaa’ box office collection: Ajay Devgn starrer crosses Rs 30 crore in three days – Times of India

After a drop on Friday, Ajay Devgn starrer ‘Bholaa’ managed to pick up pace over the weekend. The film witnessed an upward trend on Saturday and saw business coming in from multiplexes in big circuits.
‘Bholaa’ managed to earn Rs 12.10 crore nett on Saturday, taking its three day total to Rs 30.70 crore. In several circuits, the film witnessed a jump of nearly 50-60 percent. Present trend suggests that ‘Bholaa’ may rake in around Rs 40 crore at the end of its extended four-day weekend, however a lot depends upon if the audience turns up on Sunday.

Ajay Devgn essays the lead in this film, which he has also directed. ‘Bholaa’ is an official remake of Tamil film ‘Kaithi’ and Ajay states that both the movies are very different. Speaking about the same, Ajay told BT, “It’s something new and wasn’t a part of Kaithi (Tamil film). When you see the film, you will realise that we have only picked up the story idea and adapted it. When you make remakes shot-to-shot, it’s a different thing (the results are different). But when you adapt it the way you want in terms of its characterisation, drama, emotions and treatment, then it’s different. You start following your own path, which can lead you anywhere. What I have done is, I have merged it from real to surreal. All the positive characters in the film are very real, but all the negative characters are from a crazy world, not really the Mad Max (franchise) kind of a world, but in the larger-than-life kind of a zone.”
