Palash Sen talks about scripted reality shows; reveals names of singers who don’t lip-sync during live performances – Times of India

Singer Palash Sen recently opened up about fake live performances. He also listed the names of those singers who don’t lip-sync during live shows.
In an interview with a news portal, Palash cited the example of how the crowd threw eggs at Dannii Minogue when they discovered that she wasn’t singing live, and he said that when audiences in India realise that they’re paying to watch singers lip-sync, they will also be outraged. He revealed that there are just a handful of performers, such as Shankar Mahadevan, Vishal-Sheykhar, Arijit Singh, Sonu Nigam, Sunidhi Chauhan, and Daler Mehndi, who still perform live on stage. According to him, the rest are just lip-syncing to a pre-recorded track that plays in the background.

Palash also went on to talk about his experiences as a reality show judge. He recalled getting into arguments with his fellow judge Daler Mehndi on a show. According to him, there is no such thing as reality on those shows. He tried to be a crusader for the truth on one of those shows. He recalled getting into arguments with Daler paaji. He would always follow the script, but he was fighting for the truth.

Recently, Mini Mathur also opened up about reality shows being scripted. She revealed that she quit as the host of a singing reality show when she realised that they were trying to ‘construct’ reality.
