“Ajay sir is someone all of us have admired and grown up watching his films and I was obviously in awe of his presence. But his passion for making films and clarity of vision is truly inspiring. He would talk to his actors about scenes and design shots accordingly. He uses minimum instructions to bring best out of his actors,” Chetan said.
In Bholaa, Chetan’s character gets caught by police for making nuisance with his friends but he eventually has to get involved in their fight against bad guys.
Sharing about the challenges on performing action scenes for the character, he said, “I had never done scenes requiring so much action and was never cabled for any scenes before. Our action director Ramazan Bulut showed me how a cable pulls you and what should be your manoeuvre to look convincing while staying safe. Also the action sequences required certain amount of fitness and choreography needed to be practiced. We also needed some practice for dialect and characterization of this role. My equation with the friends and how innocent or cunning they could be. We had multiple readings for that with our dialect coach and a very fine actor Shridhar Dubey until we perfected our dialects.”
Describing his working experience with his co actors, Chetan said, “This was my second time working with Sanjay Mishra ji since Aankhon Dekhi and there is never a dull moment with him. He is easily one of the most loved person on every set. Deepak Dobriyal is so kind and sweet on set that you find it hard to believe what he does as Ashu in film. I never missed a chance to see him going into a scene just before action. His command over his craft is incredible. Vineet Kumar sir is a veteran actor and an amazing storyteller, he has so many interesting anecdotes to share that we lost track of time. We had almost no scenes with Tabu ma’am but I remember once when Ajay sir introduced us to her. I was dumbstruck and couldn’t say a word.”
He continued, “This shoot reinforced my zeal to know more and do more. I saw closely that understanding of camera, shot design and division can be of immense help as an actor. Same goes with understanding construct of a scene. And that there is so much more work to be done on craft.”
