In a recent interview, Virat opened up on the role that Anushka has played in his life. He admitted that while he was going through a bad phase where he wasn’t in top form, Anushka helped him a lot to get back. “She’s seen the challenges of being in this position. She’s been there for so many years and she knows what it takes to handle pressure being a public figure. Here conversations with me are priceless because she just tells me the truth. She says, ‘my responsibility with you is to tell you the truth’. How she spoke to me all through the phase is something that kept me in check. I would have become an egoistic maniac. I would have become snappier or even more cranky but for her to keep bringing me down to the base level where two people should be was important.”

The actor also opened up about the influence of daughter Vamika in his life. Watch it here:
