Bollywood actresses have this strange and ironical policy for going South, to Telugu cinema. They hike their remuneration drastically, when in fact they should be lowering their prices in keeping with the relatively modest budget set aside for Telugu projects.
Sadly it works the other way for these Bollywood divas. When Prabhas’ Saaho was offered to Katrina Kaif, she reportedly asked for 7 crores, sending the producers reeling to Shraddha Kapoor who agreed to do Saaho for relatively a lot less (apparently it was Rs 5 crore, which she doesn’t get in Bollywood).
We had heard before that Janhvi Kapoor was paid Rs 4 crore to debut in Telugu cinema with Jr NTR. But we have now been informed that the actual figure is a staggering Rs 5 crore for Janhvi’s services in director Koratala Siva’s yet untitled film.
One wonders if Janhvi has heard of recession.
