Amidst fan uproar over the actor stepping down from the hit fantasy series, the makers on Tuesday dropped the teaser trailer that gives us glimpses of the terrifying journey that lies ahead. “Now, for the first time, I understand real fear,” Geralt says as he goes up against an enemy.
‘The Witcher’ Season 3, will continue the narrative of Ciri, Yennefer, and Geralt of Rivia. Robbie Amell, Meng’er Zhang, Hugh Skinner, and Christelle Elwin are among the new cast members.
Amell portrays Gallatin, an elf warrior who commands a guerrilla Scoia’tael army fighting for Nilfgaard. Zhang is Milva, a fearless and skilled huntress who was raised as a human by the dryads of Brokilon Forest. Prince Radovid, portrayed by Skinner, is King Vizimir’s younger brother and a royal playboy (Ed Birch). Elwin is Mistle, a misfit teenage gang known as The Rats that robs the wealthy and gives to themselves.
The third season will be released in two batches: episodes 1-5 will start streaming on June 29th, while 6-8 will be available on July 27th.
The third season was previously pegged for a summer 2023 timeframe.
‘The Witcher’ has been renewed for a fourth season, but the show will have ‘The Hunger Games’ star Liam Hemsworth replacing Henry.
According to reports, Cavill had a short-term deal with the character and felt it was time to move on after three seasons of the series which films overseas and has a demanding production schedule.
Set on a fictional, medieval-inspired landmass known as “the Continent”, ‘The Witcher’ explores the legend of Geralt of Rivia and Princess Ciri, who are linked to each other by destiny. It also stars Anya Chalotra and Freya Allan.
