68th Hyundai Filmfare Awards 2023: ‘Gangubai Kathiawadi’, ‘Brahmastra’ kick-off night on a winning note; take top honours in technical categories – Times of India



Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s ‘Gangubai Kathiawadi’ and Ayan Mukerji’s ‘Brahmastra Part One: Shiva’ kicked off the 68th Hyundai Filmfare Awards 2023 on a winning note, scooping up top honours in the technical categories.
Host for the evening, Salman Khan, got the show on the road by handing out the coveted Black Lady to the artists and technicians working behind the scenes on some of the industry’s biggest films. This year, various films competed in 12 categories, including Best Editing, Best Sound Design, Best VFX, among others.

‘Gangubai Kathiawadi’ starring Alia Bhatt in the lead, took the lead in technical categories with 8 nominations. Coming in close behind with 7 nods was Varun Dhawan’s ‘Bhediya’ and Ayan Mukerji’s ‘Brahmastra’.
Gangubai was on a winning spree, taking up early awards in the Best Costume Design, Best Background Score, Best Choreography, among others. Brahmastra, on the other hand, won Best VFX and Best Sound Design.

Best Cinematography: Sudeep Chatterjee for Gangubai Kathiawadi

Best Action: Parvez Shaikh for Vikram Vedha
