Jiah Khan suicide case: Court claims her mother Rabia Khan has raised suspicion on herself – Times of India

The court gave its final verdict on the Jiah Khan case on Friday. Jiah’s mother Rabia Khan had accused Sooraj Pancholi of abetting her daughter Jiah Khan’s suicide. Infact, she insisted that her daughter was murdered. But on Friday, the court acquitted Sooraj of all charges and he was not proved guilty.
The court dismissed all the claims made by Rabia. “The complainant in her evidence directly blamed both the investigating agencies stating that they had not conducted a proper and correct investigation. By giving such open contradictory evidence, the complainant himself has destroyed the case of the prosecution,” stated the court’s order.

The order further has stated that Rabia constantly disowned her statements and that has led to Rabia raising a suspicion on herself, and not anyone else. The order said, “When expert witnesses gave their opinion regarding cause of death of the deceased as suicidal, the complainant took exactly contradictory view stating that doctors have given a wrong opinion. The complaint raised doubts even on the doctor who conducted post-mortem examination. The complainant raised doubts on everyone except herself. The evidence given by the complainant is found to be full-fledged with improvements and constrictions”
Thus, the court has further questioned the evidence which includes a letter that was submitted and it was allegedly written by Jiah about her failing relationship with Sooraj. The authenticity of the letter cannot be proved and along with that, the delay in the submission of FIR has also been questioned.

Meanwhile, Sooraj said in an interview with ETimes post this order that, “There was not only lack of evidence against me, there was zero evidence. This was a circus created by some people for their own entertainment. And it is sad that this lie took away ten years of my life. Even the letter (the alleged suicide note) for which I was arrested (ten years ago) …it has been proven after ten years in the honourable court that it wasn’t written by Jiah. The handwriting matches with Jiah’s mother’s diary not Jiah’s diary.”
