Sara Ali Khan talks about her roots and her “Indianness” on Cannes red carpet | Hindi Movie News – Times of India

Actress Sara Ali Khan made her big Cannes debut on Tuesday by walking the red carpet for the Louis XV period drama ‘Jeanne du Barry’, starring Johnny Depp. The international film premiered at the 76th edition of the Cannes Film Festival. Sar walked on the red carpet in an ivory lehenga, showing off her desi roots.
While at the festival the ‘Atrangi’ star revealed that she always aspired to be at Cannes and now that she is finally there, she’s very nervous.

Revealing more about her outfit, Sara explained that it is a traditional Indian, handmade creation by Anu Jani and Sandeep Khosla and the idea behind the look was to celebrate designers from India. Sara also said that she has always been very proud of her ‘Indianness’ and therefore it embodies who she is. She described her look as fresh, modern and yet Indian.
Sara also explained why attending such global events is important as they lead to global recognition for Indian talent and with the world becoming smaller and smaller, such events give a chance for an amalgamation of culture. She found this aspect of international events to be beautiful.
Sara will be seen next in Zara Hatke Zara Bachke opposite Vicky Kaushal.
