Salman Khan’s Dabangg franchise seems to have run into a dead end, at least for the time being. Sources in the know say Dabangg 4, which was to be directed by Tigmanshu Dhulia will now go into a complete rewrite.
“Salman has not liked the script given by Tigmanshu. The plan was to let Tigmanshu write and direct Dabangg 4. Now when the director completed his script, Salman is not the least happy with the end-result,” says the source.
It isn’t clear at the moment whether Tigmanshu has been asked to rewrite the script or whether someone from the outside will be brought in to do the needful. It is also not clear whether Tigmanashu will be directing Dabangg 4 anymore. The possibility of the project passing on to another director cannot be ruled out.
The first Dabangg film was directed by Abhinav Kashyap. The franchise passed on to Arbaaz Khan after a massive fallout between the Khans and Kashyap. Most recently, Salman’s old collaborator Prabhudheva was roped in to direct Dabangg 3.
