Director of ‘The Flash’, Andy Muschietti talks about Tom Cruise’s reaction to an initial cut of the film | English Movie News – Times of India

Andy Muschietti reveals that Tom Cruise absolutely loved the upcoming superhero movie, The Flash. For many months now, the film has been eagerly anticipated thanks to James Gunn and key members of the industry being involved in the making of the film. The controversy around Ezra Miller too had intensified and perhaps contributed to the hype and aura right before the film’s release.
Apparently, the legendary actor was in total awe of the film after watching an initial cut.In a meeting withWarner Bros. CEO, David Zaslav, it was revealed that Zaslav mentioned how good the film is looking to Cruise. The producer, stuntman and veteran actor is of course no stranger to the obstacles, trials and tribulations that go into the making of any quality film and enthusiastically requested David to send him a copy.
Reportedly, David was very happy to send him a copy of the film. An employee from Warner Bros. sent the film to Cruise’s home in Beverly Hills and waited until he watched the film live. After that, he had to take the film’s copy back to the Warner Bros. headquarters. Tom was so mesmerised by the film that he made a cold-call to Andy Mushietti, The Flash’s director to let him know just how much he appreciated the film and talked to him for 15 minutes.
Earlier, Steven Spielberg too had openly acknowledged Cruise at the Oscars luncheon for “Saving Hollywood” as the industry was struggling during and after the pandemic to draw large audiences back to theatres. Top Gun: Maverick did just that and Spielberg expressed his gratitude to Cruise, who was one of the producers on the film.
