Shahid Kapoor who made his acting debut in the early 2000s and eventually became an established name, recalled a phase when he was going through a lull in his career while shooting for Sooraj Barjatya’s ‘Vivah‘.
In an interview with Pinkvilla, Shahid Kapoor shared that he had three of his films flopped in one month and he thought of himself to be the cause of the same. He revealed that he was going through depression.
The ‘Haider‘ actor recalled that he was shooting for ‘Vivah’ for 8-10 days when Barjatya came to his vanity van one day and Shahid was sitting in a wedding costume as they were to start shooting the wedding scene. This is when Shahid asked Sooraj if he wanted to replace the actor.
Kapoor explained that people don’t like him because this is with all the other actors who are superstars and they are doing really well, he was the reason why they didn’t want to see this film.
Shahid shared that the director must have wondered, “If my hero’s state of mind is in this shape, how will I make a good film?” That’s when Sooraj told him something that has stayed with him.
The actor further added that the universe created by Barjatya in Vivah was not relatable for him but he depended on his director to transport him into that world.
On the work front, Shahid who recently made his debut on OTT with ‘Farzi‘ is gearing up for season two of the show. He will soon be seen sharing screen space with Kriti Sanon in an untitled love story which is backed by Dinesh Vijan.
