Adapted from Ullekh Np’s book, the biopic has faced a series of challenges and hurdles during its production. Allegations have arisen that Sandeep Singh and Vinod Bhanushali have sought a substantial share of the film’s profits, raising questions about their rights vis-à-vis the original rights holder, 70MM Talkies.

Ullekh Np, the author of the biopic, refrains from providing further details, stating, “It is true that there is a case in court. Since the matter is subjudice, I cannot comment any further.”
This dispute has escalated, affecting not only 70MM Talkies but also Penguin India and the book’s author, Ullekh Np. The legal quagmire is now slated for resolution at the Bombay High Court, with the next hearing scheduled for October 26th, 2023.
Complicating matters further, the ongoing controversy surrounding Sandeep Singh’s film “Sawarkar,” embroiled in a legal dispute with Randeep Hooda, has cast a shadow over “Main Atal Hoon.” The biographical film, intended to shed light on the life and contributions of Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee, now finds itself caught in the midst of this legal crossfire.
This legal issue has cast uncertainty over the release and future of the highly anticipated biopic, leaving both its stakeholders and the film’s release in mishap as the case unfolds within the Bombay High Court.
