The book which officially hit shelves on October 24, has already become the the highest-selling celebrity memoir of all time. Making the big announcement, Spears took to thank her fans for the outpouring of love and support.”It’s happening!!!” she said and added, “My book is the highest-selling celebrity memoir in history and it’s only day 1 !!! Thank you to the fans who have been so supportive !!! Love you all.”
In the book, Spears reflected on the journey in the entertainment industry. Besides opening up about her love life, and music career, she also shed light on some of the movie roles that came her way. While she was at it, she also got candid about the roles she regrets turning down.
According to reports, Britney revealed that she once auditioned for the role of Allie in the timeless romantic film ‘The Notebook’. “Even though it would have been fun to reconnect with Ryan Gosling after our time on ‘The Mickey Mouse Club’, I’m glad I didn’t do it,” Spears said and added that turning down the film enabled her to work on her album ‘In The Zone’.
However, one role she does regret declining was in the 2003 Academy Award-winning musical, ‘Chicago’. Britney described her role in the film as “a villain who kills a man, and sings and dances while doing it, too.”
Expressing her regret over the missed opportunity, Britney said, “I should’ve done it. I had power back then; I wish I’d used it more thoughtfully, and been more rebellious. If only I’d been brave enough not to stay in my safe zone, and done more things that weren’t just within what I knew. But I was committed to not rocking the boat, and to not complaining even when something upset me.”
Spears’ memoir has been in the headlines over the past weeks, as it not only offers a glimpse of the many twists and turns in the singer’s career but also sheds light on many of her personal tragedies and triumphs over the years.
