Ganapath box office collection day 5: The Tiger Shroff, Kriti Sanon starrer shows no growth despite Dussehra holiday | Hindi Movie News – Times of India

Tiger Shroff and Kriti Sanon starrer ‘Ganapath Part 1′ which released on October 20, got a very dull start at the box office, despite the ongoing festive spirit. On the first weekend itself, the film only scored around Rs 6.5 crore at the box office which the trade considers as one of the lowest post pandemic numbers for a film.
But there was some expectation left from the Dussehra holiday for the film to pick up.But Ganapath showed no growth despite the Dussehra holiday. The film made Rs 1.5 crore on Tuesday as per early estimates shared by Sacnilk.com. It had only 12.28 per cent occupancy on and didn’t see any growth. The total collection so far in five days, now stands at Rs 9.8 crores.
The Tiger Shroff starrer is facing competition from Vijay Thalapathy’s ‘Leo’ as many Hindi watching audiences is also flocking to watch this south film. ‘Ganapath Part 1’, is directed by Vikas Bahl.
This is more disappointing since the film is mounted on a huge budget of Rs 200 crore and yet there was no buzz around it. The film is set in a dystopian 2070 A.D and was touted as India’s first dystopian film. But the audience didn’t show any excitement towards the trailer or songs even before the release.
The film also stars Amitabh Bachchan in a pivotal role, along with Elli AvrRam, Gauahar Khan among others.
