In a surprising revelation, actor Ranveer Singh shared interesting insights about his relationship with Deepika Padukone and the challenges he faced while balancing work commitments and his then impending wedding, as he appeared on the Season 8 premiere of Koffee with Karan. During the show, Ranveer candidly disclosed that Deepika and he got engaged three years prior to their 2018 wedding.
Furthermore, Ranveer discussed a potential clash between his wedding and the shooting schedule of his blockbuster film Simmba.Recognising the gravity of the situation, he made sure he worked with the entire cast and crew of the film to ensure that the shoot was completed on time so that he can leave for his own wedding.

Ranveer shared that he called up Rohit Shetty to inform about his wedding date and how it is clashing with their shoot for Simmba, to which the superstar director said the only option is to work 24X7 and that is what they did.
Deepika and Ranveer got married at Italy’s Lake Como in November 2018, and Simmba released after Christmas the same year, the film till date remains the biggest hit of Ranveer’s career, grossing more than Rs 400 crore across the globe. Ranveer and Rohit teamed up again for Cirkus but that failed to create the same magic. The two of them are working again in Singham Again which features Ajay Devgn in the lead and has Deepika Padukone making her debut in the cop universe as Shakti Singham, Ajay Devgn’s sister.
