Raj Kundra responds to a question on whitewashing his image in UT 69: I am showing you what has happened what I went through | Hindi Movie News – Times of India

Businessman Raj Kundra, who is currently gearing up for the release of his debut film UT 69, has reacted to the question about whitewashing his image in his upcoming film. The trailer of the movie offers a perspective on Raj’s life, shedding light on the 63 days he spent at Mumbai’s Arthur Road Jail while under trial.
Responding to the question, Raj was quoted as saying by Pinkvilla that the trailer shows that it’s not whitewash. He revealed that directorShahnawaz Ali has read the notes, everything he wrote in his diary about what happened with him inside the jail.
“These things happen. When Shilpa was on TV they said, ‘She’s looking damn hot’ and somebody said, ‘Aare yaar uska pati yaha baitha hai chup kar (His husband is sitting here, keep quiet)’. I had to go through that,” Raj added.
He mentioned that he is showing the audience what has happened and what he went through during his time in jail. When he wrote it, it was very satirical. And the way he was writing at that time if felt like a black comedy then and there. He said that when he was writing the notes, he was laughing to himself despite being a serious matter. “It was funny but at the same time painful,” he shared.

Raj then recalled an incident when he wanted a western toilet inside the jail since he wouldn’t be able to squat due to his knee pain. A person told him that it was available inside but that commode wasn’t attached to anything and it was unusable.
The film, a witty dark comedy, captures the trials, challenges, and unexpected friendships that Raj struck during his time in jail. The makers have not talk about the controversy or the case at all because the matter is subjudice and it is still in court.
