The famed director put Ranveer and DP on the hot seat and got them talkign about their personal and professional lives. During a Rapid Fire round, KJo asked Ranveer, “In a love triangle featuring you and Deepika, which male actor would you not mind being cast as the third character?”
Much to everyone’s surprise, Ranveer picked his wife’s ex-boyfriend Ranbir Kapoor.Not just that, he even reminded Karan that he was supposed to cast them in a film together. “You wanted to make Sangam with the three of us. What happened to that?” Singh asked.The actor went on to tell the director, “You are always boasting but make nothing concrete.”
To this, KJo said he can still make Sangam and asked the two actors, “Sign it?” He didn’t have to wait too long before Deepika confirmed her spot in the cast saying,”Done.”
“I am dying to (make it),” Karan affirmed.
“Sangam,” a cinematic masterpiece, was directed and produced by Ranbir Kapoor’s legendary grandfather, Raj Kapoor.
For the unversed, Sangam revolved around two best friends who fell in love with the same girl. The 1964 film directed and produced by Ranbir Kapoor’s legendary grandfather, also saw him in a leading role with Vyjayanthimala, and Rajendra Kumar. The movie went on to become a blockbuster.
Should the director make this film, it will mark Deepika’s 6th film with Ranveer and her 4th with Ranbir.
Besides this project, rumours are rife that the trio will work together in the upcoming Ayan Mukerji film ‘Brahmastra Part 2’.
