Priyanka Chopra reveals she attended Naseeruddin Shah’s acting classes for 7 Khoon Maaf, here’s what Pankaj Kapur advised her – Times of India

In a recent discussion at the Jio MAMI Mumbai Film Festival 2023, she shed light on her 2011 film ‘7 Khoon Maaf.’ Priyanka portrayed the character of an Anglo-Indian woman in the movie, which received both critical acclaim and commercial success.

During the making of the film, Priyanka Chopra took her commitment to the role seriously. She attended acting classes conducted by the renowned actor Naseeruddin Shah for about ten days. Additionally, she sought advice from actor Pankaj Kapur, who happened to be her neighbor at the time. When she asked Kapur for guidance on her complex character, he wisely responded that all the answers she needed were already in the script.
‘7 Khoon Maaf’ is a black comedy film directed by Vishal Bhardwaj, based on Ruskin Bond’s short story ‘Susanne’s Seven Husbands.’ The movie featured a talented ensemble cast, including Irrfan Khan, Naseeruddin Shah, and others, and it garnered critical acclaim upon its release.

At the same event, Priyanka Chopra also mentioned her experiences with her film ‘Fashion.’ She recalled how some people cautioned her against doing a ‘female-oriented’ film, but she followed her instincts and loved the script. The hard work and dedication of the team paid off, as the film became a success. They even spent six months working on the script while residing at her home in Goa.
On the professional front, Priyanka Chopra has recently been seen in the action thriller web series ‘Citadel’ and has exciting projects like ‘Head of State’ and Farhan Akhtar’s ‘Jee Lee Zaraa’ alongside Alia Bhatt and Katrina Kaif on the horizon.
