Atlee reveals Shah Rukh Khan told Thalapathy Vijay that he would become the biggest director in the country with Jawan | Hindi Movie News – Times of India



Director Atlee is currently basking in the massive success of Shah Rukh Khan starrer Jawan, which also marked his debut in Bollywood. The movie, which also stars Nayanthara, Vijay Sethupathi and Deepika Padukone in a special cameo, earned more than Rs 1100 crore at the box office. Atlee, who had been working on Jawan since 2021, recently revealed that Vijay was the first one to know that the film was confirmed.
During his conversation with popular Tamil TV presenter and YouTuber Gopinath, Atlee shared that Shah Rukh Khan wanted Jawan to work for both of them. SRK told Atlee, ‘You are coming from a place of success. Many like you, who have been king in their place, have come here and failed. That shouldn’t happen. It is not about money, but name. If you fail, then I will fail with you.’

SRK then asked Atlee to call Vijay on the phone because the superstar wanted to tell Vijay about Jawan. When they spoke, SRK told Vijay that he would make sure that there was no issue for Atlee because of the film and that he would become the biggest director in the country.

“Vijay sir was so happy after hearing that,” Atlee said. He also added that Vijay constantly remained a support throughout the journey and told him to finish it properly and be patient.
Now, Atlee has also confirmed that he is working on a two-hero film with Shah Rukh Khan and Vijay. He revealed that both the superstars discussed among themselves on his birthday which came at a time when they were shooting for Zinda Banda song. The director said that both SRK and Vijay are ready and it could be his next project.
