While several Bollywood celebrities including Boney Kapoor, Shatrughan Sinha, Hema Malini, Anupam Kher, Riteish Deshmukh, Manisha Koirala and Sonu Nigam among others mourned the demise of Subrata Roy, Amitabh Bachchan‘s deafening silence on social media raised eyebrows, which ultimately led people to accuse the megastar of brutally abandoning his old connections like Subrata Roy and Amar Singh, who stood by him during his testing times.

It seems like social media users are blowing the situation out of proportion as Amitabh Bachchan along with his son Abhishek Bachchan and daughter Shweta Bachchan Nanda did offer their tribute to Subrata Roy.
ETimes received a couple of footages from a well placed film industry source which shows Amitabh, Abhishek and Shweta visiting Sahara Star Mumbai on November 15 morning and exiting the building after paying their last respects to Subrata Roy and passing condolences to his wife Swapna Roy.
In fact, Amitabh had taken to his blog to mourn the loss Subrata Roy. On November 14, he had written, “.. one by one the past leaves us .. they who become your attachment , your close .. one day they leave .. and the void remains that unkept untreated volcanic depth of unknown void .. no more the presence .. no more the affection .. all gone .. for them a better residence .. for us left behind that void of the crater , filled with the laked waters of nature .. unexplained, yet there till time decides to unwind and relive ..it never does .. but no harm in reliving that for the self ..single handedly, with no generational affliction, he built an envious empire .. from nothing to a thing that did not possess a ‘no’ .. the ‘no’ of nothing ..gone ..just the times of memory and remembrance .. as does life with all of us ..prayers to suffice the absence .. the gentle reassurance to them left behind.”
Subrata Roy was cremated on Thursday evening with his 16-year-old grandson performing the last rites at Bhaisakund, in Uttar Pradesh’s Lucknow district. Roy’s sons Sushanto and Seemanto were abroad and could not attend the funeral.
