Salman Khan‘s niece Alizeh Agnihotri makes her Bollywood debut with Soumendra Padhi‘s Farrey. The film premiered at the ongoing IFFI 2023. Speaking to ETimes, director Padhi got candid about his film. Excerpts:
How did Salman Khan react to the film?
They all loved it. We had started our screenings for critics as well and they’re going so well. You are as good as your team and the team is very good.I was given all the freedom to make the film the way I wanted to make it.
Salman Khan was very supportive. He watched the film and loved it. Since then he has been taking care of the film as his own baby. He is a man of few words. He watched the film in one go and loved it. He is very genuine.
How does it help to have the premiere of such a film at IFFI?
We are looking forward to showing the film to more like-minded people and critics at the festival. The panel at IFFI liked the film. I have been getting messages from the jury members. It is purely on the basis of the film. The film’s premiere at IFFI is a red-carpet event.
What do you think of Alizeh as an actor?
She is fantastic. She has chosen a role which was very performance-oriented. Many others are also debuting with this film. Alizeh has given all the time for pre-production and done all the hard work. I made her do workshops for months. She is very secured as an actor.
