
She recently made headlines after she was awarded the ‘Special Recognition for Contribution to Bharatiya Cinema’ Award at the 54th International Film Festival of India (IFFI) in Goa.At the same event, when the actress was asked if her husbandShriram Nene has any acting plans, Madhuri said that he is a surgeon and a doctor. He hails from a different platform altogether. However, it was Dr Nene’s reply that caught everyone’s attention. He said, “Oh!, Yeah…..acting …will see…”
Expressing her gratitude for the honour, the actress said, “I’m feeling very honored to have been bestowed upon such an award and whenever you get this kind of award you feel encouraged, and you feel to do much better work in this creative field. You feel that hunger so that we can give more entertainment to our audiences.” She added, “Cinema has given me so much, it’s time to give something back in return. What better way to do so than through song and dance which is integral to not just Indian cinema, but Indian culture as well.”
