Lee Dong-wook recently sat down for an interview to discuss his latest film, ‘Single in Seoul,’ at a cozy cafe in Samcheong-dong, Seoul. The actor warmly recommended the movie to fans, suggesting that it could add a spark to relationships. He mentioned that for those going through breakups, the film might evoke memories of happier times.
‘Single in Seoul’ revolves around the romance between Yeong-ho (played by Lee Dong-wook), a content loner who enjoys his solitude, and Hyun-jin (played by Lim Soo-jung), an editor creating a book about single life.Lee Dong-wook expressed his hope for the success of the movie, emphasising its relatable elements and timely themes.
Sharing his experience working with Lim Soo-jung, Lee Dong-wook highlighted her lovely personality in real life. He commended her professionalism on set, noting that her detailed acting approach challenged and inspired him. According to Lee Dong-wook, Lim Soo-jung’s supportive attitude created a comfortable filming environment. He praised the director for being open-minded and incorporating the actors’ input into the movie.
Expressing satisfaction with the film’s ending, Lee Dong-wook described it as realistic and fitting for the story. He also spoke about the advantages of the romance genre, noting its ease and comfort for viewers of all ages.
Interestingly, Lee Dong-wook admitted to sharing similarities with his character Yeong-ho, confessing that, like Yeong-ho, he leans towards the single life. He shared his views on dating and marriage during the interview.
Touching on his appearances on the web entertainment program ‘Pinggyegyo,’ hosted by Yoo Jae-suk, Lee Dong-wook expressed his surprise at being perceived as funny. Despite enjoying the laughter and camaraderie on the show, he stated that he has no plans to start a personal YouTube channel, deeming it unnecessary.
‘Single in Seoul,’ marking Lee Dong-wook’s return to the romance genre, is set to premiere on November 29th, promising an enjoyable and relatable experience for audiences.
