Ranbir Kapoor’s ‘Animal’ trailer reminds fans of ‘Sanju’ performance: Ranbir looking like came straight out from Sanju set | Hindi Movie News – Times of India

The release of the much-anticipated trailer for Ranbir Kapoor’s upcoming film ‘Animal’ on November 23, set social media abuzz brimming with excitement and surprise. After the frenzy around the action-packed movie settled down, fans, on second look, noticed the uncanny resemblance between the actor’s new role and his previous role as Bollywood veteran Sanjay Dutt in Rajkumar Hirani’s ‘Sanju’.
The trailer of ‘Animal’ left fans swooning over Kapoor’s transformation into a menacing character. However, some others could not seem to shake off his striking likeness to his act as Sanjay Dutt in the 2018 film ‘Sanju’. The hashtags #SanjayDutt and #Sanju took over the top trends on social media with fans flooding various platforms with their amazement at Ranbir’s resemblance to Dutt.

One user even went as far as saying that some scenes in the ‘Animal’ trailer were, “Sanju movie deleted scenes.” He went on to add, “Is it just me, or does Ranbir Kapoor look more like Sanjay Dutt now (sic)?”

Another user shared, “Ranbir looking like came straight out from Sanju set (sic).”
The sentiment was echoed by a different user who wrote, “Ranbir Kapoor is still playing Sanju baba.”
Several others felt that the actor was struggling to shake off his ‘Sanju’ act while portraying this new flawed character in Sandeep Reddy Vanga’s film.

Keeping in mind the film’s grim story and twisted plot, another user wrote, “Felt like watching ‘Sanju’, but with a twisted father-son relationship and a shit ton of violence! Ranbir is very good, but the show stealer is Bobby Deol with his suprisingly brilliant emoting! This is surely a 360 degree turn for Bobby!”

‘Animal’ is all about a father-son relationship, played by Anil and Ranbir Kapoor. In the film, Ranbir plays the role of Arjun Singh who idolises his father but rarely gets anything from him. Though Balbir (Anil) does love his son, his work as a businessman keeps him occupied.

Releasing on December 1, the film also stars Bobby Deol, Rashmika Mandanna, Triptii Dimri, Shakti Kapoor, Prem Chopra, and Suresh Oberoi, among others.
