Reportedly, a Russian actress, Polina Menshikh, was killed in a Ukrainian attack while performing for Russian troops in a Russian-controlled area of eastern Ukraine.
According to reports, the Russian theater actress stated that Polina had been killed while performing on stage in the Donbas region. They said in a statement, ‘It is with great pain that we inform you that Polina Menshikh, famous as the director of one of the versions of ‘The Last Trial,’ died yesterday at a performance in Donbas as a result of shelling.’
An unverified video has surfaced on the internet that shows soldiers watching Menshikh singing on stage with a guitar.The video saw Polina performing, and the building suddenly got rocked by a blast. The military officials on both sides confirmed there had been a Ukrainian attack. The Russian defense ministry declined to comment and said that there were no casualties from the attack.
Robert Brovdi, a Ukrainian military commander, said in a post on social media that 25 people were killed in the strike and more than 100 were injured.
Ukraine’s Brovdi said the attack was revenge for the 128th, a connection to a Russian attack on soldiers from Ukraine’s 128th Separate Mountain Assault Brigade, in which the brigade said 19 of its soldiers were killed.
