Parineeti Chopra reveals she had put up 15 kilos for Imtiaz Ali’s ‘Chamkila’, gives a glimpse into her gym time – WATCH | Hindi Movie News – Times of India

Parineeti Chopra who got married to Raghav Chadha in September this year, is slowly getting back to work after her wedding festivities and the little break. The actress had finished shooting for Imtiaz Alis’ ‘Chamkila’ with Diljit Dosanjh before she tied the knot. The film is a biopic on Punjabi singer Amar Singh Chamkila and his wife Amarjot Chamkila.
While Diljit plays Amar Singh, Parineeti is seen as his wife Amarjot. Chamkila and his wife Amarjot were killed, along with two members of their band on 8 March 1988 in an assassination which remains unresolved. Post her wedding, Parineeti is slowly getting back to her fitness regime. She shared a video of her workout and revealed that she had to put on weight to play Amarjot.
She spent six months in putting on weight and just singing in AR Rahman‘s studio. The actress wrote, “I spent 6 months this year singing in Rahman sir’s studio, and going back home to eat as much junk as I possibly could to put on 15 KILOS for Chamkila! (Coming soon on Netflix😍) Music and Food. That was my routine. Now that the film is done, the story is completely the opposite. I miss the studio, and live in the gym trying to get back to looking like myself again. And not like Amarjot ji! Its been hard. But anything for you Imtiaz sir! And this role 😍 Many more inches to go. Let’s do this! 💪 #Chamkila #ImtiazAli #Amarjot”

Parineeti can also be seen singing in the studio right after her wedding in this reel as she’s sporting some sindoor.
For those not in the know, Parineeti was supposed to do ‘Animal’. But she backed out of the project. Some reports suggested that she had given dates for ‘Chamkila’ and chose that over ‘Animal’. Some reports also said that Sandeep Reddy Vanga didn’t think she was suited for the part.
‘Chamkila’ is set to release on OTT.
