Smriti Irani: Kangana Ranaut supports Smriti Irani as she opposes period leave for women, says, ‘it’s not some illness’ | – Times of India


Smriti Irani discussed the issue of granting period leaves to women today in Rajya Sabha. She stated that menstruation is a natural part of life and shouldn’t be treated as a handicap requiring special provisions. However, the Union Minister highlighted the existing ‘Promotion of Menstrual Hygiene Management (MHM)’ scheme, aimed at adolescent girls from 10 to 19 years.
As this announcement comes, Kangana Ranauttook to social media and supported Smriti’s views.Kangana who is always known forwomen empowerment and being honest about her views on social media, had similar views like Smriti. Kangana expressed, “Working women is a myth, there hasn’t been a single non-working woman in the history of mankind, from farming to house chores to raising kids, women have always been working and nothing has come in the way of their commitment to their families or community or nation. Unless it’s some specific medical condition. Women don’t need paid leaves for periods, please understand it’s periods not some illness or handicap.”

On work front, Kangana got a lot of accolades for her performance in her last film ‘Tejas’. The actress will be seen next in ‘Emergency‘ which she’s also directed. Kangana will be essaying the role of Indira Gandhi in the film. The film also stars Anupam Kher and the late Satish Kaushik.
