Wamiqa Gabbi had a fantastic year workwise. The actress had a number of projects this year for which she got a lot of appreciation. Wamiqa was loved in Vikramaditya Motwane’s ‘Jubilee’ on OTT. Meanwhile, she was also seen in Vishal Bhardwaj’s ‘Khufiya’ for which she got a lot of accolades despite the towering presence of an actor like Tabu. It also starred Ali Fazal.
Meanwhile, now, Wamiqa has begun shooting for Varun Dhawan’s next, ‘VD 18’.The film also stars Keerthy Suresh. As she ventures on this new journey, the actress is quite excited. Wamiqa says, “Being a part of VD18 is a thrilling experience for me. Collaborating with exceptional talents likeVarun Dhawan and Keerthy Suresh under Atlee sir’s visionary direction is a creative journey I’m eager to explore.”
Reflecting upon how the year was for her, career wise, she expressed gratitude and said, “I have been and will always be eternally grateful to 2023, the year that plunged things to new beginnings. And to end the year with being on sets now of my next is truly the perfect curtain call for the year,” further adding, “It’s moments like these that remind me why I love what I do, and I can’t wait for audiences to witness the magic we are creating on screen.”
It’s indeed lovely to see the actress getting this recognition, because a while ago, in an exclusive chat with ETimes, Wamiqa had expressed, “In 2019, I thought about quitting acting and I thought this wasn’t meant for me because I wasn’t happy with the work I was doing. I was also not very good with my craft which is why perhaps, I think I wasn’t enjoying it completely. I just thought I’ll earn some money and travel the world. It had been 6-7 years that time of me staying in Mumbai. During that time only, ‘Midnight Children’ audition happened to me. I landed the part in ‘Midnight Children’. It’s a different story that it never got made but it was my first project with Vishal Bhardwaj and it opened so many doors for me. That’s how my journey started and changed.”
