The director Rajkumar Hirani revealed in an interview that he specially wrote a role for Vicky Kaushal in the film. He mentioned that he was having a conversation with Vicky’s father, the legendary action director Sham Kaushal about having a highly significant role for Vicky, but was unable to offer him as it is not the lead. But the same evening he got a call from Vicky stating that he will do any role in the film and no one will do that role except him.
The movie narrates the tale of four friends from a Punjab village, aspiring to reach England without visas or tickets. Their luck turns around when a soldier pledges to assist them. Shah Rukh Khan plays Hardayal Singh Dhillon, and Vicky Kaushal portrays Sukhi. Set for release on December 21, it will compete with Prabhas’s “Salaar: Part 1 – Ceasefire.”
