Shah Rukh Khan and Prabhas are all set to clash at the box office with their upcoming releases Dunki and Salaar. While there’s a lot of excitement among their respective fans, the clash scenario seems to have become complicated for the single screen owners. And Manoj Desai, executive director of G7 Multiplex and Maratha Mandir Cinema, is very upset as several single screens have not been allowed to open bookings with both the films being just 3 days away from their releases.
While the Rajkumar Hirani directorial Dunki will release on December 21, Prashanth Neel’s film will hit the theatres on December 22. Considering the situation, Dunki will enjoy more footfalls and have more showcasing on its opening day compared to Salaar.
Disappointed with the clash scenario, Manoj Desai angrily expressed his feelings and told Bollywood Hungama that not just his theatres but all single screens have been instructed to hold the bookings, adding that in most multiplexes, only the booking for Thursday has been allowed.
He further said that the makers of Dunki just want to prioritize multiplexes from where they get the maximum revenue, while the single screens owners like him are been left to suffer. He also mentioned that Vinay Chowksey, who books films at his theatre, but he refused to answer his calls.

“Anyone would be angry that a film is releasing in just three days and yet, we can’t take benefit of it and sell tickets. They are ruining the film. Koi Shah Rukh Khan ko bole yeh baat that they are f****g with his film,” said Desai, who has opened bookings for Dunki only for Thursday at the 1000-seater Gaiety.

Meanwhile, the advance bookings for Dunki and Salaar have opened a couple of days ago. And the SRK starrer has already collected over Rs 5 crore on its opening day, by selling 1,86,753 tickets out of 7855 shows in India only for its Hindi version in the 2D format.

While Dunki also stars Taapsee Pannu, Vicky Kaushal, Boman Irani, Vikram Kochhar and Anil Grover, Salaar also features Shruti Haasan, Tinu Anand, Eshwari Rao, Jagapathi Babu, Sriya Reddy, and Garuda Ram.
