Because of his fever, I giving him a fever inducer, and his fever went down… Then, in the morning, his face was slightly red again and his fever went up. But he ate everything I gave him”.
Despite her initial efforts to alleviate his symptoms, the child’s condition took a turn for the worse, prompting a rush to the emergency room with friends by her side, as her husband was away on a business trip.

In a chilling moment, Park Bo Mi described the heart-wrenching experience of witnessing her son’s sudden seizure and limp body, “Suddenly, I was holding him in my arms when his eyes darted around, then he had what looked like a seizure. Then his body went limp. I could feel that, so I said, ‘What do I do? What do I do? Hurrry hurry!’ From that moment, I wasn’t in my right mind”.
However, Park Bo Mi confessed the overwhelming guilt she felt during this critical time. She admitted “Honestly, it wasn’t even though for me to pray for him to live but I was searching for things on Naver… I prayed, ‘Please save him. What if he gets a disability? Then what do I do?’ I felt so guilty about that. When the doctor told me his heart miraculously started beating again, I cried so much. I had worried about something else. Praying to save his life wasn’t enough yet I was worrying about him having a disability because I knew how hard that would be for him”, reflecting on the conflicting emotions that engulfed her as a mother facing an unthinkable situation.
As Simon’s health continued to deteriorate, the actress faced the heartbreaking decision of whether to let him go. Despite the initial glimmer of hope, Park Bo Mi shared “I knew in my head that I had to let him go, but when I saw him, he was so warm and his heart was beating. He was just sleeping, and I was so sad thinking about the fact I could never see him again”. Simon was ultimately released from his earthly struggles on May 21 at 5:17 PM.
Park Bo Mi candidly expressed “Even now, I don’t think I can use the fabric softener I used to use. When I stepped into my home, I kept smelling Simon. The laundry was hanging, his food was inside the refrigerator. I didn’t know what to do with all that. So I kept crying while smelling my baby’s scent”. The actress admitted to constant tears as she navigates through the remnants of Simon’s presence.
The grief-stricken mother also recounted the poignant moment when she spread Simon’s ashes, realizing “Simon was really chubby and cute. But when I was spreading his ashes, I saw piece of the orange jacket my best friend gave him. At that moment, I realized, ‘Oh, he really became ashes now’”. Yet, amid the pain, Park Bo Mi found solace in a dream where Simon appeared with her deceased grandmother, assuring her that he was well in heaven.
