Vicky Kaushal’s Sam Bahadur has been a surprise hit of the year despite its clash with Ranbir Kapoor’s Animal. Sam Bahadur which is in its third week, had a fantastic run over the third weekend where it collected nearly Rs 12.25 crore over three days, taking the film’s collection over Rs 75 crore. A fall on Monday was expected which usually happens by the time the film reaches the third weekend but with Sam Bahadur, the drops on most Monday’s have been drastic.In its first week, it saw a near 60% drop on Monday and it’s second week it saw a drop of nearly 71 %.

And now in its third week, the film saw a nearly 70% fall in its collection over Sunday, as per early estimates by Sacnilk, the film collected just Rs 1.65 crore on Monday, taking the film’s total to Rs 78. 25 crore in 18 days.
Facing tough competition from Ranbir Kapoor’s “Animal” at the box office, the film suffered the most. “Animal” has been a blockbuster, raking in almost Rs 518 crore in just 18 days. Despite a slight decline, it witnessed a significant weekend surge, collecting over Rs 35 crore. “Animal” is now close to surpassing Gadar 2’s record of Rs 524.75 crore in India, needing just a little over 6 crores.
“Sam Bahadur,” depicting the life of Field Marshal Sam Manekshaw, was produced with a reported budget of Rs 55 crore, targeting a lifetime total surpassing Rs 85 crore. Despite the upcoming challenges posed by “Dunki” and “Salaar: Part 1 – Ceasefire,” theater owners are pleased to accommodate both films, recognizing their ongoing strength and potential.
