Dunki Vs Salaar day 1 collection early estimates: Prabhas starrer to beat Shah Rukh Khan’s film with a huge margin | Hindi Movie News – Times of India



The ugly box office clash between Dunki and Salaar has been intensified due to the ongoing issue over the number of shows and booking tickets at multiplex chains. While PVR-INOX has denied unfair theatre practices towards Prabhas starrer in favour of Shah Rukh Khan‘s film, Salaar has outperformed Dunki in advance booking sales for its opening day.
According to Sacnilk, Dunki has taken a good start at the box office and finished its advance booking with good numbers.The Rajkumar Hirani directorial has sold 558.8K tickets approximately, which is worth around Rs 15.50 crore. It had an overall 25 per cent occupancy in theatres and the movie is set to earn Rs 30 crore on its opening day, which will mark Hirani’s second highest grosser after Sanju with Rs 34 crore.
Salaar, on the other hand, has sold 101K tickets approximately for its Hindi version, which is worth Rs 2.70 crore. It has overall sold around 2 million tickets in the advance booking and it has already made Rs 30 crore gross on day 1. With one more day in hand before the release, Salaar is looking to take a flying start at the box office and is set to collect Rs 70 crore on its opening day and it is expected to make somewhere around Rs 100-110 crore gross in India, as per early estimates.

While Dunki has released only in Hindi language, Salaar will be released in Hindi, Telugu, Tamil, Malayalam, and Kannada languages which makes it a pan-India film.

Meanwhile, Dunki has opened to mixed reviews and high excitement from SRK fans. It is Shah Rukh’s third film in the year after blockbuster hits Pathaan and Jawan. Several critics and audiences alike were underwhelmed by the much-discussed film. It also stars Taapsee Pannu, Vicky Kaushal, Boman Irani, Vikram Kochhar and Anil Grover.

On the other hand, set in the fictional city of Khansaar, Salaar revolves around two friends Deva and Vardha, played by Prabhas and Prithviraj Sukumaran, who end up becoming arch rivals. Directed by Prashanth Neel, the film also stars Shruti Haasan, Eshwari Rao, Jagapathi Babu and Sriya Reddy.
