Amid ‘Animal’s massive success; Aamir Khan’s old video speaking against the use of s** and violence in movies goes viral, netizens react

In a chat with Hindustan Times, Mona shared her conversation with Aamir Khan after the film’s setback, saying, “I met Aamir sir at a party; I asked him how he is doing. He said, ‘Mona, it’s okay. We all have to move on.’ I told him how Laal has changed my life. This year, I’ve shot for 5 series and for a film, and it’s all because of Laal.”
Mona reflected on the day Laal Singh Chaddha was released and its less-than-expected performance at the box office. She remembered visiting Aamir with the film’s director, Advait Chandan. Recalling that day, she said that they were quiet, laughing, then she started crying. Advait was comforting her. It was a little tough because they had created a world full of love and empathy. Laal was all about that and had no controversies. Not putting any religion down and no personal attacks. It was just great cinema. But people took it in a different way, she added.

Released in 2022, Laal Singh Chaddha, an official remake of Forrest Gump, faced challenges at the box office, making less than Rs 130 crore worldwide against a reported budget of Rs 180 crore. Despite the financial setback, the film continues to receive love from fans, and Mona believes it will attain cult status in the future.
