
Prashanth Neel‘s action film ‘Salaar Part 1: Ceasefire’ has been released in theaters today. Starring Prabhas, Prithviraj Sukumaran, and Shruti Haasan in lead roles, the movie was released worldwide in Telugu, Kannada, Tamil, Malayalam, and Hindi. The pan-India film is clashing at the box office with Shah Rukh Khan’s ‘Dunki‘ which was released on December 21.
While until yesterday, Dunki had majority screenings in multiplex theaters, later in the evening, taking the hype and buzz into consideration, the number of screenings for Prabhas’s Salaar also increased. The new buzz is that as the film has already earned nearly Rs 90 crore in advance sales, it is expected that the box office opening for the film will be double that of Dunki’s Rs 30 crore opening.

According to the box office tracking site Sacnilk, Salaar’s advance sales have managed to gross Rs 49 crore, and the film is expected to make Rs 60 crore at the end of the day on the day of release. The movie’s positive response has also increased the sale of tickets over the weekend, as the ticketing platform stated that over 50,000 tickets had been booked in India in the past hour.
