Shah Rukh Khan starrer ‘Dunki‘ is having a decent run at the box office. The film is SRK’s third consecutive film which earned Rs 100 crore in its opening weekend, after ‘Pathaan‘ and ‘Jawan‘. While ‘Dunki’ released on Thursday, December 21, it saw a good jump in the business over the extended Christmas weekend. It managed to make about Rs 45 crore at the box office on Saturday and Sunday.Meanwhile, the Monday numbers were also steady considering that it was a Christmas holiday.
But on Tuesday, it saw a drop by a good margin. On Monday, it made Rs 22 crore while on Tuesday, as per early estimates, ‘Dunki’ will collect Rs 6.66 Cr as per Sacnilk. These are the early estimates and as per the numbers estimated till 2pm on Tuesday. With the evening numbers coming in along with the current bookings, there may be a change in this. However, it is expected that on Tuesday, the number will be in single digit. Uptil Monday, the total of ‘Dunki’ was around Rs 129 crore and after the Tuesday numbers, the domestic total collection so far, is expected to be around Rs 136 crore.
It is expected that the film will continue to have these average numbers during the weekdays while again, the second weekend will play a huge role in determining the film’s fate at the box office. Meanwhile, at the worldwide box office, the film has already crossed the Rs 200 crore mark. While ‘Dunki’ will enjoy a good run in its own space, it won’t be able to match up the lifetime collection of ‘Pathaan’ and ‘Jawan’ and that was also expected since the genre of this is quite different than the other two!
