In an exclusive interview with ETimes, Aman shared the journey of creating music for the movie, and the efforts he put to set the bar high.He mentioned how folk melodies were blended with Western tones to create a perfect cocktail for the movie. He said, “Rajkumar Hirani’s films are known for creating their own immersive worlds, and my approach was to craft music that seamlessly integrates into this unique cinematic world. I embarked on a creative exploration, fusing Punjabi folk melodies with a Western Italian ambiance to encapsulate the film’s setting.”

While sharing an interesting anecdote, he mentioned the use of a 70-piece orchestra in making the music of the movie. “What made this musical journey even more extraordinary, was the creative freedom bestowed upon me by Raju sir. We opted for live recordings, orchestrating a symphony of sounds with a 70-piece orchestra in Budapest. From the resonating beats of big tyco drums to the delicate notes of clarinets, woodwinds, trumpets, guitars, and Indian flutes, we meticulously curated a diverse range of instruments to enhance the film’s narrative,” said Pant.
Calling ‘Dunki’ an experience to remember, he further added, “It was about not just composing music, but creating an auditory vision that elevates the overall cinematic experience. Additionally, in a poetic nod to Shiv Kumar Batalvi’s romantic verses, I had the privilege of composing four-line poetry in a song for the film, encapsulating the soulful essence of the narrative ‘Ki Puchde O Haal Fakiran Da’.”
“This blend of artistic expression and technical prowess aimed to make the music of ‘Dunki’ an unforgettable part of the film’s identity,” he concluded.
